Les Virades de l’espoir 2011: helping those who cannot catch a breath, Sunday sept 25th

Like every year, all around the country, those involved in the fight against cystic fibrosis (CF) (patients, relatives, friends, researchers, nurses tec.) gather for Les Virades de l’Espoir, which will be taking place on Sept 25th this year.

Everyone is invited to participate; children, parents, schools, companies, associations etc.

Talking to those involved, participating in sporting events, everyone can contribute to this event according to their availability:

- Donating breath, by walking, running or competing through a specific sporting event.
– Donating time, by listening, gathering information and helping organizers, patients and families.
-  Donating money in order to help fund research on the disease

For Parisians, meeting point is Saturday Sept 24th for a FLASH MOB in the Parc Monceau at 11:00am for a giant soap bubble competition.

Printing t-shirts, training at lunchtime with our personal coach Danielle, organizing car-pooling teams…This is it! Presse-Papiers is getting ready to run the Odyssea race on Oct2nd at the Bois de Vincennes near Paris.

The aim  this yearis to reach 20 000 participants– runners, walkers even strollers ! ! All together wearing pink and participating to the fight against breast cancer. For the first time, children will have their very own race and will be able to “run for mommy” on Oct 1^st at 3:00pm on a 1km distance. The sporting event will be followed by a giant snack.

The collected funds help finance research programs on personalized medicine for breast cancer.  A total amount of 445 000€ have been collected these past few years.

Presse-Papiers opened a risk and crisis management department :  PR-PA Risk Management, headed by Annie Clerc de Marco.

In the last 10 years major crises such as contaminated blood, H5N1, H1N1, Mediator… have placed sanitary risks top of mind for the population. Civil society is seriously questioning the responsibilities of those who are putting the population at risk, whether they are conscious of it or not.

In this context of major trust issues, Presse-Papiers developed a new offer for its clients that is complementary to media relations and communication actions in order to help them anticipate risk and deal with unstable situations and even crises.

Annie Clerc de Marco joined the team and brings her 20 years of experience in risk management in the healthcare arena:

-       chemistry,

-       pharma industry (human & animal health),

-       Food industty,

-       Environment .

Annie works with Manon Chevassut, Account Manager at PR-PA Risk Management.

PR-PA Risk Management handles all types of crises (corporate, technical, scientific…) and also any kind of sensitive subject and particularly those largely exposed to risk. PR-PA Risk Management develops a number of tools to support strategies:

-       Risk mapping,

-       coaching sessions to raise awareness on risk management,

-       surveys and studies to identify trends and handle controversies,

We’ve just signed a two-year contract with Novartis Pharma for collaboration in areas as varied as Alzheimer’s, ophthalmology, cancer research and more.

Presse-Papiers will support the Association Vaincre la Mucoviscidose (Cystic Fibrosis Association) at all its appearances on the occasion of the Virades de l’Espoir (Races for Hope) on September 25.

The IGR has renewed its trust for the 3rd consecutive year by allowing us to cover the IGR-Odyssea race due to take place on October 2. As in previous years, the Presse-Papiers team will take part in the race.

2011 RARE Congress, the must-attend event in the fight against rare diseases at national and European level, has chosen Presse-Papiers for its new event which will be held in Montpellier from November 2 to 4.

On the occasion of the opening of its new offices, Pr-Pa Digital brought together key e-health players in France on March 3, 2011.

The program featured a presentation of the Carenity.com and Remedeo.fr projects and the new Doctors 2.0 conference, encounters and networking, all in an extremely pleasant atmosphere.

Since September 2010 Anne Leroux has been responsible for running and developing a section dedicated to OTC products. She has been involved in products that have made their mark such as Pantozol Control, Oropolis, Monasens etc.

Presse-Papiers and Ketchum-Pleon France offer a common communication platform and international coordination in the health, prevention and wellness sectors. This new organization has led to a new dedicated team being set up within the agency, headed by Juliette Billaroch, multilingual Senior Consultant, responsible for coordinating all opportunities for joint development on a national and international scale (60 countries).

As a partner of the Health 2.0 congress, Presse-Papiers led a meeting with health professionals who blog and dialog on social networks.

Sébastien, pharmacist and author of the Supergelule blog, Alain Clergeot, CEO of Chugai lab and author of the La santé dans la cité (Health in the city) blog, and Pierre Aubert, founder of the santelog.fr site, talked about their varied activity on the web and social networks as health professionals.
